Jennifer Aniston Reveals Her ‘Friends’ Spinoff Idea, Talks Friendship With Dolly Parton On ‘Late Late Show’

Any time Jennifer Aniston is on a talk show, it’s inevitable the host will at some point ask about the potential return of “Friends”, and James Corden was no different on Thursday’s “The Late Late Show”.

The “Dumplin” star appeared on the show alongside her new best friend Dolly Parton, who contributed several original songs to Aniston’s new Netflix movie, and shared her ideas for a “Friends” spinoff.

“Listen, the girls always say we would love to do it again and the boys are a little less excited about it, for some reason,” the “Horrible Bosses” actress explained. “I don’t know.”

Aniston, however, has an idea for a mashup with another classic sitcom.

“We’ve decided that we’ll just do — and I’ve said this before — we’ll just do a remake of the ‘Golden Girls’ in 40 years. Just kind of go out on wicker chairs.”

When Corden asked which of the iconic Golden Girls she would play, Aniston had a better thought. “What if we’re Rachel, Phoebe and Monica as just golden girls?”

Aniston and Parton also chatted about their friendship which developed while working on “Dumplin”, and Aniston revealed that she was such a huge fan of the country music legend that she named her dog Dolly.

“When I first found out about it, I didn’t know if it was an insult or a compliment,” Parton confessed. “I thought, is she saying I’m a dog?”

However, when Parton met Dolly at a dinner party at Aniston’s house, she knew it was a sign of respect. Although it did lead to some confusing situations.

“I met the dog and then as the night went on, it kind of got a little embarrassing because there were other people and she was saying, ‘Dolly, don’t pee on the rug,'” Parton said.

“But Dolly is very well trained,” Aniston added, patting Parton on the shoulder. “She went to the bathroom.”
