Star Wars\' Next Live Action Series Will Be A Rogue One Prequel

Diego Luna Star Wars Rogue One JabbaThe second live-action Star Wars Disney+ series, following Rogue One‘s Cassian Andor, is reportedly going under cameras in October.

That Hashtag Show reports the untitled Cassian Andor series starring Diego Luna will begin filming October 28, 2019, and wrap on June 17, 2020. The American‘s Stephen Schiff will serve as showrunner for the upcoming series with Moana‘s Jared Bush kickstarting the project and writing the pilot and series bible. Along with the production start information, That Hashtag Show also provided a brief synopsis for the second live-action Star Wars series:

“The ‘Rogue One’ prequel will unfold in the early years of the Rebellion and is described as a “rousing spy thriller.” Diego Luna will reprise his role as rebel spy Cassian Andor, the cocky daredevil who helped steal the Death Star plans in the hit 2016 movie. “

The Mandalorian started production last October with filming currently underway, here is the synopsis:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.

Filoni serves as the director on the first episode of the series with additional episodes will be helmed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope director Rick Famuyiwa, and Jessica Jones director Deborah Chow.

The Mandalorian will be available exclusively on Disney+ in 2019.

‘Captain Marvel’ Funko Toys Confirm Carol Danvers’ Cat Will Appear

Captain Marvel Brie Larson Carol Danvers Kevin FeigeWith just about four months away from the release of Captain Marvel, Funko has now revealed its upcoming line of Pop! Vinyl Figures that are tied-in to the highly-anticipated film that features Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, the titular heroine and perhaps the most powerful character in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The reveal of this new line of Funko Pop! Vinyl Figures show off some of the characters set to appear in the film, one of which includes Carol Danvers’ feline companion Goose the Cat.

The name of our heroine’s cat may come as a surprise to fans of the comics because in previous incarnations, Captain Marvel’s cat is named Chewie and is actually part of the Flerken species.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel will be released in theaters on March 8, 2019.
